Welcome to Homegrown @dannythecookWe want to take a minute to introduce you to one of our newer Home Grown partners, Sheboygan Wisconsin’s Deer Creek Cheese.

Deer Creek’s cheeses are a family’s kitchen counter creations come to life at the hands of some of Wisconsin’s greatest Master Cheesemakers. The brand collaborates to create cheeses that are characterful, inspiring both the cheese lover and cheese professional with whimsical personality, creative flavor, and consistent quality. With the help of his family and team, founder Chris Gentine strives to showcase some of the best of what The Dairy State has to offer by blending traditional, sustainable cheesemaking methods with a unique cocktail of cultures and ingredients, and a rigorous cheese grading program. This collection of handmade and hand selected Wisconsin artisan and specialty cheeses blends time-honored traditions with new sensory experiences.

Our fresh mushroom division, Mycopia Mushrooms, has earned its reputation as the premier grower of top quality, flavorful forest mushrooms that are "no longer wild, but far from tame." Our mushrooms are grown on oak-based substrate in reusable bottles. After the mushrooms are harvested, the spent substrate is recycled and turned into compost that is highly prized by local farmers and wineries. Our mushrooms have been certified organic and kosher since 2005.@drinkopenwater is a sustainable bottled water brand that was founded by two childhood friends who loved the ocean and wanted to fight plastic pollution. They became the first Climate Neutral certified water brand in the world, meaning they offset all of their emissions from their packaging and operations. They also use an average of 73% post-consumer aluminum in every bottle and can, which is infinitely recyclable and BPA-free. Their water is ultra-purified and electrolyte-packed, and comes in still or sparkling varieties.🌊

The two childhood friends who founded Open Water are Nicole Doucet and Jess Page. They started the company in 2009 after being horrified by the single-use plastic pollution problem. They wanted to find a more pragmatic solution that was better for the environment but didn't sacrifice convenience. They chose aluminum as their packaging material because it is infinitely recyclable, carbon neutral and made of recycled material.

There are several reasons why you might want to choose Open Water over other brands of bottled water. Here are some of them:

- Open Water is sustainable and environmentally friendly. It uses 100% recyclable, carbon neutral aluminum packaging that keeps plastic out of our oceans. It also uses recycled material in every bottle and can.
- Open Water is pure and healthy. It is vapor distilled for purity and has added electrolytes for hydration. It also has a unique blend of magnesium, calcium and potassium for added health benefits. It has no added calories, sugar or coloring.
- Open Water is convenient and versatile. It comes in still or sparkling varieties, so you can choose your preference. It also has a BPA-free aluminum bottle that is refillable and reusable. We’re thrilled to be a sponsor of @chicagochefscook and the Chicago community to help support @wckitchen on their hardwork and dedication during the Earthquake in Syria and Turkey.
